HomeFixr is a homeowner connection service operated by 1465708 B.C. Ltd. ("HomeFixr," "we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit homefixr.ca, submit a project request, communicate with us, or otherwise use the HomeFixr service.
1. Our Privacy Commitment
HomeFixr collects and uses personal information only for purposes that are reasonably connected to providing and operating the HomeFixr service.
HomeFixr does not install, repair or service HVAC equipment. Our role is to help homeowners considering residential heating and cooling replacement or upgrades connect with an independent HVAC company.
When HomeFixr makes a connection, we do not send your request to a shared list of competing HVAC companies.
For a particular connection, your project information is shared with one HomeFixr Partner that serves your area and meets the HomeFixr Partner Standard.
If another connection is later proposed, HomeFixr will obtain any additional permission required before sharing your project information with another HVAC company.

Our website may also collect limited technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, referral source and website activity through normal website functionality, hosting, security or analytics tools.
If advertising-measurement technologies such as cookies or pixels are introduced, this Privacy Policy and any required notice or consent mechanisms will be updated to reflect the technologies actually in use.
3. Why We Collect Personal Information
We may use personal information to:

5. The HomeFixr Partner Standard
Before an HVAC company can receive HomeFixr homeowner requests, it must meet the HomeFixr Partner Standard.
The Standard includes checks relating to matters such as:
- business legitimacy
- relevant licensing or appropriately licensed trade coverage
- active commercial liability insurance
- WorkSafeBC status where applicable
- serious regulatory, safety or consumer red flags
- agreement to HomeFixr's consumer-treatment and compliance requirements
The HomeFixr Partner Standard is intended to reduce homeowner risk. It is not a guarantee of workmanship, pricing, service quality or project outcomes.
6. Service Providers
HomeFixr may use third-party service providers to operate the website and service, including providers involved in:
- website hosting
- database or form infrastructure
- communications
- security
- analytics
- technical support
- business operations
These providers may process information on HomeFixr's behalf only for legitimate business purposes connected to the service.
Some service providers may process or store information outside British Columbia or outside Canada. Where that occurs, information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed.
HomeFixr remains responsible for personal information under its control and takes reasonable steps to use service providers appropriate for the information involved.
7. Compensation From HVAC Companies
HomeFixr is free for homeowners.
HomeFixr may receive compensation from participating HVAC companies in connection with the HomeFixr service.
That does not change the purposes for which homeowner personal information may be collected, used or disclosed.
8. Communications About Your Project
When you submit a HomeFixr project request and authorize contact, HomeFixr and the HomeFixr Partner receiving your request may contact you about that specific project using the contact methods you authorize.
This may include phone, text message or email.
Project-related communication is separate from consent to receive unrelated promotional or marketing communications.
If HomeFixr later offers optional marketing communications, consent for those communications will be requested separately where required.
10. Retention
HomeFixr retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including:

- maintaining consent and transaction records
- handling complaints
- preventing abuse

Information that is no longer reasonably required will be securely deleted, destroyed or anonymized where appropriate, subject to legal retention requirements.

HomeFixr uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information in our custody or control.
No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. HomeFixr therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
If HomeFixr becomes aware of a privacy or security incident, we will investigate and respond in accordance with applicable law.
12. Accuracy
We rely on homeowners to provide accurate project and contact information.
You may contact us if you believe personal information HomeFixr maintains about you is inaccurate or incomplete.
13. Access, Correction and Withdrawal of Consent
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information HomeFixr holds about you and request correction of inaccurate information.
You may also withdraw consent to future collection, use or disclosure where consent is the legal basis, subject to reasonable notice and any legal or contractual restrictions.
Withdrawing consent may prevent HomeFixr from completing a requested connection.
Requests may be sent to our Privacy Officer.
14. Children
HomeFixr is intended for adults who are legally able to make or authorize decisions relating to a residential property.
HomeFixr does not knowingly seek project requests from children.
15. Independent HVAC Companies
HomeFixr Partners are independent businesses and are not employees or agents of HomeFixr.
After information is properly disclosed to a HomeFixr Partner for the requested connection, that Partner is responsible for its own privacy practices and legal obligations relating to information under its control.
Homeowners may ask the Partner about its privacy practices directly.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, technology, business practices or legal obligations change.
The current version will be posted at homefixr.ca/privacy with its effective date.
17. Privacy Officer and Contact
HomeFixr has designated a Privacy Officer responsible for privacy matters.
Questions, privacy requests or complaints may be sent to that address.
